Counting the new history of sports complex Uruchcha

The Palace of Sports Uruchcha is open. Nevertheless, the history of this place  began almost 40 years ago. The modern complex has appeared on the basis of a small athletics arena. Sportsmen in only a few disciplines were training in the old arena.

Vladislav Raschupkin, the chairman of the Sports Committee of the Armed Forces of Belarus, colonel:
For example, it was impossible to develop, on the basis of the arena, the disciplines such as hammer-throwing, javelin-throwing, disk, and others. In the mid-80s, the construction of a modern athletic complex began, where athletes could practice these disciplines as well. At the same time, the Belarusian handball team SKA Minsk boasted outstanding achievements. Their playground was located in the central part,
inside the running track.

This place still remembers glorious victories of previous years. The legendary team SKA Minsk won against the strongest handball clubs from all over the world. At the same time, 8 Olympic champions were training in this arena.

Vladislav Raschupkin, the chairman of the Sports Committee of the Armed Forces of Belarus, colonel:
The second floor hall of the sports complex is occupied by a museum exposition. On the one hand, it is for inspiring athletes for victories, and on the other hand, for showing the audience the whole story of the Army sports. Cups is basically the achievement of the Belarusian handball team. However, there are cups dating back to the 50s and even late 40s. These cups were won at national and international competitions by army athletes.

Running tracks are now a thing of the past. Instead of them, there are three new gyms and a huge grandstand. The gyms are designed more for team sports: handball, volleyball, basketball, badminton and mini-football. According to international experts, the sports palace Uruchcha meets the highest standards. The main playing gym is equipped with modern lighting, sound and broadcasting equipment. Three thousand spectators and a large number of journalists can watch matches at the same time.

Vladislav Raschupkin, the chairman of the Sports Committee of the Armed Forces of Belarus, colonel:
In order to hold a major international match, we must obtain permission. We send to the International Handball Federation complete information about the arena, beginning with lighting, and ending with Internet connection and the press tables. The sports palace Uruchcha fully complies with these requirements.

The sports complex is  going to become a place where new Olympic champions will be brought up thanks to the modern equipment.

Nevertheless, the sport is inextricably linked with multiple injuries. Therefore, a special place is reserved for the medical center. The main direction is recovery and rehabilitation.

Anton Semenov, Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service, the Head of the Department of Sports Medicine:
The main function of the laser is the fastest pain relief. Pain is removed after exactly one procedure. It allows athletes to continue further training and recover.

Despite the fact that only one month has passed since the opening, the palace has already held some competitions. Now the sports arena is preparing for a new challenge.

Vladislav Raschupkin, the chairman of the Sports Committee of the Armed Forces of Belarus, colonel:
The Belarusian handball team SKA Minsk will play with a French team. This is one of the major matches. The game will decide whether SKA-Minsk will get out of the group. We hope everyone will be cheering for the Belarusian team.
