Traffic capacity of Belarusian-Polish customs stations to increase by half

The traffic capacity of the Belarusian-Polish customs stations will increase by half. It became possible thanks to the advanced technologies implemented in the process of the vehicle and freight customs clearance on both sides of the Belarusian-Polish border. The issue was raised at the meeting of the Belarusian and Polish customs authorities in the checkpoint Bruzgi situated in the Grodno region.

Both countries will be exchanging data on goods transferred across the border. Therefore, the time for freight clearance will be reduced, particularly, because one and the same vehicle won't be screened twice.

Yuri Senko, Chairperson of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
Information technologies allow us to clear 150 vehicles in a time unit now, while we could clear only 100 vehicles before. And together with the Polish customs authorities, we calculate our daily traffic capacity and the share of each state. If we're ready, we sign the agreement and notify every interested party.

Marian Banaś, Chief of the Customs Service of the Republic of Poland:
Our cooperation was always effective and we hope it remains such. The Belarusian side has created all the necessary infrastructure to increase the freight flow. The modifications in Poland will soon be finished, and then we'll coordinate our efforts.
