Belarusian athletes eye 45 Olympic licenses for Rio Olympic Games

Belarusian athletes count on 45 Olympic licenses for the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, head coach of the national athletics team Igor Sivodedov told reporters today.

"At the moment, 26 Belarusian track-and-field athletes have fulfilled qualification requirements of the international federation. We plan to have 45 licenses by the end of the qualification. After the winter season (28 March), the team will go to a training camp. We have a group of 20 athletes, who are on an individual schedule with personal coaches. These athletes are provided with everything necessary to prepare for the main start of four years," said Igor Sivodedov.

According to him, Andrey Kravchenko will get down to active preparation for the Games in late March.

In June, hammer thrower Ivan Tikhon is to complete the qualification standard at the Belarus Championship.
