International Security Conference experts hail Belarus' foreign policy

The International Security Conference is being held in Munich. Representatives of about 30 countries are discussing problems of refugees in Europe and the civil war in Syria. The Belarusian delegation is represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by foreign minister Vladimir Makei.

Mr Makei met with European partners to discuss closer political and trade-economic cooperation. Foreign colleagues positively assess the policy of Belarus in the international arena.

Arnd Hoente, TV journalist (Germany):
Although I can watch Belarusian policy only from the outside, I find very important that if European values take root in Belarus (such as democracy, human rights, freedom of opinion) it is necessary to maintain this.

André Lindner, chairman of the Belarusian-German Society (Germany):
I think that the Minsk Agreement had importance not only for Ukraine and Russia in terms of the resolution of the conflict, but also for Belarusian diplomacy.
