Special containers for hazardous waste appear in Minsk

It will be easier to sort hazardous waste in Minsk. Special containers for separate collection of hazardous waste have been developed in Minsk. In particular, the containers will help safely dispose of energy saving and fluorescent lamps and batteries.

Dozens of similar structures are already in place in the capital's shops. Each container has three parts for separate collection. There will be soon more miniature versions of containers to collect waste separately.

Containers for batteries will be even provided with an indicator showing whether the trash bin is already full.

Minsk hasn’t yet got experience of the recycling of old batteries. However, in 2016, Belarus’ scientists are planning to launch the whole production at the expense of producers and importers of this type of waste. It will be the recycling of about 100 tons of batteries per year. Developments of Belarusian scientists will be taken as the basis.
