Development strategy of EEU single commodity market discussed in Minsk

The formation of the development strategy of a single commodity market in the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed today, February 2, in Minsk. Minsk is hosting the first Eurasian Mining and Exploration Forum.

In the framework of this plan, it is planned to develop a common approach to the geological information and its processing. This will allow a more accurate assessment of the importance of deposits as well as calculation of the economic impact of their production.

One of the key objectives of the forum is to attract new investment in mineral exploration. Today a number of projects with the participation of foreign investors is being implemented in Belarus. In the future, this work will continue.

Andrei Kovkhuto, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus:
All agreements that will be reached at this forum should create a more favorable atmosphere environment for the development of deposits, as a common approach to the approval of reserves for economic issues will allow investors to have a clear idea of where to invest.
