Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz turns 70 on January 3

Metropolitan of the Minsk-Mogilev Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz turned 70 today, on January 3.

On the day of his birth, the main Catholic bishop of Belarus had two masses in the Archcathedral of Blessed Virgin Mary in Minsk.

President Alexander Lukashenko has sent his congratulations to the metropolitan. The head of state expressed confidence that the pastoral and spiritual activities of Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz will further strengthen Christian traditions, civil peace and accord as well as the development of constructive relations between the state and the Roman Catholic Church.

Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, Archbishop Metropolitan of Minsk-Mogilev Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus:
We now see how many challenges there are in today's world. These are challenges of political, social and, above all, moral character. And the main task of the church today is to respond to these challenges. To respond in time. Because tomorrow it may be too late. We must remember that tomorrow begins today.
It is ordinary people who I am responsible to. I thank them for their prayers. And, of course, if God gives me strength and time, I will continue to faithfully serve the Church.
