Belarus creates mechanisms to control products' conformity with technical regulations

Belarus has created mechanisms to control products' conformity with technical regulations, said December 29 the Prime Minister of the country.

In 2015, experts of the State Committee for Standardization checked over 20,000 items of imported products. And in most cases, violations were detected.

They are mostly related to the labeling and lack of documents confirming the quality and safety. It concerns mainly baby products, light industry products and furniture.

Andrei Kobyakov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
Decree No48 establishes a monitoring mechanism for conformity of products entering the domestic market with the technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Viktor Nazarenko, head of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus:
This decree is one of the bricks from which a system to protect the country's markets is formed. This is not only to protect our industry but also consumers from counterfeit goods.
