Irina Driga, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus:
It is cultural figures who asked us to declare the next year the Year of Culture. The next year we will celebrate anniversaries of such famous Belarusians as Maksim Bogdanovіch, Kondrat Krapіva, Ivan Shamyakіn and of course Vladimir Mulyavіn. The cultural festival Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Igor Denisov, actor of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre:
Culture is everything. The more we focus on the problems of culture, the more we will involve our youth and kids in some projects. And for me the Year of Culture means that 2016 will be the year of theater too, which is great!
