Social protection still priority of Belarusian state, Alexander Lukashenko says

Social protection remains in the spotlight of the state, said December 22 the Belarusian President meeting with Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. The main objective of the organization is the preservation of jobs, as well as social and legal protection of workers.

Alexander Lukashenko asked what is workers' mood, especially considering the current situation in the economy. After all, it has become more difficult to work in traditional markets. Companies today are trying to diversify export and find new partners.

The President thanked the Federation of Trade Unions for their participation in the 2015 election campaign.

Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus President:
I want to thank you for participating in the election campaign. We absolutely do not hide it because in the youth organization you did more than anyone else in order to make sure this campaign is carried out decently. You were at the forefront, you spoke with people and explained to them what is happening. People answered us with a good deed, so big thanks to you. Special thanks to trade union activists.  Now our task is to form, from top to bottom, the vertical of power there and not to deceive people. This is our main task.
The year will be a very difficult, very difficult. We have ourselves to blame and our neighbors, our trading partners also have problems. Probably they will need years to solve these problems. But this also affects us, since Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan are major markets for us. These are our markets. The EU is also protecting their market. So we have to go out there, to Vietnam, Indonesia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. We are trying to sell something there. We are also mulling some projects with the United States, this is a very lucrative market. But it's not easy.

The major industrial companies of Belarus are now working to enter new markets. They primarily focus on diversification. Belarusian vehicles are in demand in Venezuela and the Arab region. Tractors Belarus are used not only in the CIS countries but also in Africa.

However, not all businesses have such successes. Mikhail Orda said that some labor groups address the authorities for help. Take, for example, one of Mogilev plants. There are some problems at the enterprise. Debts don't allow reaching the break-even production. But it is important to help them. New orders would be very useful.

Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus:
We are talking about field development and other issues that relate to something that our industries need today. There was a suggestion and a request to the head of state that this labor group be given these orders so that the company reaches a normal, stable operation.

The company lacks orders in the domestic market.

Alexander Bondar, crisis manager of the engineering enterprise:
Today, we are looking for markets in Russia and Kazakhstan. We are working with a company in Brazil to produce some prototypes for them.

Today, the social protection of people and the preservation of jobs are still the main task of trade unions.

Today the Federation of Trade Unions unites more than 4 million people.

But how to improve the working conditions? The President was offered several options to this end.

Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus:
We proposed to consider the establishment of a compensation fund. It was also proposed to expand the market of insurance services to a maximum degree.

These proposals emphasize once again that the state's social model remains unchanged. After all, a trade union should always be next to a person.
