Michal Chabros: Poland not facing threat of refugee influx

Poland is unlikely to face an influx of refugees from the Middle East. This problem is more relevant to Western Europe, who are more economically developed, such as Germany or Sweden, said December 22 charge d'affaires of Poland in Belarus Michal Chabros. On this basis, Poland is not expecting for a surge of illegal migration on the Belarusian-Polish border.

Poland is interested in the establishment of inter-regional cooperation with Belarus. More Polish investment may come to Belarus in the coming years. The parties intend to develop business dialogue primarily through joint projects in the IT sector and agriculture.

Michal Chabros, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Belarus:
Inter-regional cooperation has a very big potential. We know that there is a desire on the part of local authorities of the Vitebsk region to enhance cooperation. The most promising area of our cooperation is in the dairy sector. We have already conducted talks in in Vitebsk and Poland. We hope they will be successful.

Belarus and Poland are going to address visa issues.

Already in 2016, Polish visa centers will open in eight Belarusian cities. It is planned that consular services will cost about 15 euros.

Overall, Poland is interested in visa facilitation for Belarusian citizens. This topic is being actively discussed in Brussels. But for now there have been no concrete results.
