Opera enthusiasts have been waiting for this event for one year! Minsk is hosting the 6th International Christmas Opera Forum. It's kind of festival of premieres of the Bolshoi Theater with participation of world stars. "The Tsar's Bride" was the first performance staged in the capital. The immortal work was performed by prima of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
Venera Gimadieva, soloist of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia:
The very performance surprised me. Because it is very lively, with a change of scenery, with the movements of the scene, with characters which opened for me from another angle. Basically, I assumed that Martha is a sociable girl. But only in this performance did we have an opportunity to show it.
The forum will last 5 days. The program also includes the most famous French opera "Carmen" and perhaps the most innovative libretto by Tchaikovsky "Eugene Onegin". Tickets for the final gala concert are already sold out.
