WWI scene re-enacted in Belarus

Weapons, artillery and cavalry horses. WWI battles could be again seen near Belarus' Brest. About 150 people from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine have recreated a picture of one of the bloodiest wars in the history of mankind.

The Brest region was chosen on purpose. It was here where in the middle of December 1917, a military truce between Soviet Russia, Germany and its allies was signed.

Viktor Pravdyuk, director, historian (Russia):
It was one of the bloodiest wars. In terms of the number of deaths, first of all. These 4 years should be counted as previous 400 since people found new ways of killing a person. And this was the truce of absolutely tired of people who lost their brothers, fathers, everything and it was the happiness of half-piece.
