Distinguished Belarusians awarded in Minsk

Scientists, doctors, farmers, and teachers gathered December 8 at the Palace of the Republic. People of different professions and ages all share one thing - resistant and hard work. On behalf of the president, the best Belarusians were today handed state awards. The list of honored people includes over 100 people.

Medals and certificates of gratitude on behalf of the President were presented by the head of government. A handshake and a photo - the ceremony takes only a few minutes. But behind are many years of hard work and creative search.

Oleg Demidenko, Vice Rector for Research of the Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University: 
When the state awards you, it suggests that you need to work further to stay on track and increase your level.

The results of these people's work is the best investment of the state. For example, thanks to doctors Belarus is now among the best nations in terms medicine in many international rankings. Farmers are responsible for the food security of the country. 

Eight medals were also awarded for outstanding contribution to the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
