The footballer of the Belarusian national team Egor Filipenko has held the first match in La Liga after being included in the starting XI in the away match against Athletic Bilbao.
Filipenko was in an unaccustomed position of defensive midfielder in the starting lineup, while his natural position is central defender. The Belarusian spent 45 minutes on the field and was substituted at half-time for Juanpi.
During this time, Filipenko made two interceptions, lost the ball twice, fouled once and received a yellow card in the 12th minute and forced an opponent to foul on himself.
The match ended in a goalless draw, despite Malaga having man advantage after Mikel San José was sent off.
After 14 rounds Yegor Filipenko's Malaga is 17th in the standings.
The Belarusian defender joined the team in January, but since then he has played only in cup matches.
