Belarusian nuclear power plant gets mobile app

A special mobile application "NPP in plain sight" (Russian: АЭС на ладони) has been developed in Belarus. It can be used to study the Ostrovets nuclear power plant, which is now under construction: look inside, learn how it works, go through the virtual corridors of the station and find out about the Belarusian nuclear power plant’s security system.

Tatyana Shlyk, head of the information center on nuclear energy:
Thanks to this application it is possible to explore the NPP all around, to look inside, and to find out what function a particular building construction carries. Everyone, whenever and wherever he or she is, can learn something about the NPP and obtain any additional information concerning the nuclear industry.

Moreover, it is possible to tour the real Belarusian nuclear power plant. By the way, there is a large information centre where one can learn every last detail about nuclear power. It should be noted that the station has already attracted many tourists, including foreign ones. Furthermore, excursions will be conducted even after all the plant units are commissioned.
