December 1 the personnel of the 61st Air Base in Baranavichy received new old planes. Ten upgraded MiG-29 fighters were put on combat duty. It is noteworthy that all of their new filling of the fighters was made in Belarus. It is symbolic that the arrival of the aircraft coincided with the start of the new academic year in Belarus' air force and air defense forces. The military aircraft immediately started flights.
Boris Budaev, Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus:
We expect that 2015-2016 will be a watershed in the training of pilots. And the main task will be achieved - any pilot will be ready for the most demanding tasks.
Maxim Slizh, CTV:
Domestic designers significantly modernized the fighters. Now MiG-29 is equipped with a system for flight monitoring. Earlier combat vehicles of this class did not have such systems.
This means that the pilot can analyze his actions after the flight, already on the ground. This aspect is very important in training.
Oleg Dvigalev, commander of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus:
We are going to repair combat training aircraft in 2016 and 2017. We are now completing repair of the training aircraft L-39. We are waiting for four combat training aircraft Yak-130, which we have recently purchased.
