Belarus' Tsmoki Minsk hand Slovakian Komarno heavy defeat in FIBA Europe Cup

After four consecutive defeats at the domestic stadium, Minsk Arena, the basketball club Tsmoki Minsk have finally achieved the first victory of the season.

Coach Igor Grischuk's Tsmoki won the first home game against Slovak Komarno in the 4th round of the FIBA Europe Cup 98:67 (31:14, 22:18, 18:17, 27:18). Minsk's Dragons from the first minutes took control of the game and finally pleased their fans not only with a beautiful game but, most importantly, with a victory. As in the home match of the first round of the competition in preliminary Group N, the Slovakian team could not provide decent resistance to the champions of Belarus. Anthony Hilliard collected 31 points to become the highest-scoring player of the night.

Prior to that, Tsmoki Minsk won away against Komarno 90:68 and the BC Rilski Sportist of Bulgaria (97:88) and also lost at home to the Finnish club Kataja Basket (82:88).

Standings in Group N after four rounds:
Kataja Basket - 7 points,
Tsmoki Minsk – 7,
Rilski Sportist – 6,
Komarno - 4.

The Dragons will host Rilski Sportist on November 24 and then go to Finland to face current group leaders Kataja Basket on December 2.

Matches in the 14 preliminary groups of the tournament will be completed on December 2, after which the 32 best teams will continue the competition in the second group stage. The clubs will be divided into 8 quartets and again hold two-round tournament (matches at home and away). After the second stage, two best teams from each group will advance into the playoffs of the Europe Cup.
