Alexander Lukashenko visits 120th separate mechanized brigade of the North-Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has visited the 120th separate mechanized brigade of the North-Western Operational Command of the Armed Forces. The unit was formed in the years of the Great Patriotic War, and today it is among the best in the country.

Soldiers are successfully solving tasks and improving combat skills, for which all conditions have been created. The reconstruction and improvement required BYR6 billion in 2015 alone.

Vladimir Kulazhin, commander of the 120th mechanized brigade:
We repaired three military barracks. Facilities are simple but modern and they can accommodate many troops providing them with living conditions. A medical company building was renovated and it now uses a new organizational staff structure. The unit now has modern medical equipment, a modern dental office and other treatment rooms.

The Head of State is well familiar with the unit. Once he himself served in this brigade. However, since that time, a lot has changed here.

On October 27 the President familiarized himself with the conditions created for the modern military. He visited the barracks, a dining room and a medical unit.

The head of state was then shown the latest weapons and military equipment. In particular, those for special purpose units. A camouflage allows a soldier to fully blend with the environment and remain undetected by the enemy. Among the new products of the domestic military industry are shields for armored vehicles: tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers. Made in the form of lattices, they extinguish the knockdown power of a grenade launcher's shot. The President also familiarized with the tactics of warfare during special operations.
