Vietnam interested in Belarus' environmental technologies

Belarusian-Vietnamese drones over the jungle and new projects in the space sector. October 26 the scientific elite of the two countries discussed the joint development and future directions at the National Academy of Sciences.

Researchers from Belarus and Vietnam joined their minds two years ago when joint laboratories appeared. There, scientists are workng on diagnostic equipment, projects in the space sector, and laser physics. Vietnam is also interested in Belarusian scientists' technologies for environmental protection.

It is planned to create two joint laboratories. Thanks to them, soon Belarusians will be able to buy tea from Vietnamese medicinal herbs.

Sergei Chizhik, first deputy chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences:
We have established very good relationships and good cooperation with Vietnamese scientists. We are creating a joint production of unmanned vehicles, made the first projects, set machinery and trained specialists. We have good results in the field of chemistry, new materials chemistry: water purification and preparation of new materials based on raw materials in Vietnam. Now we are creating a laboratory for the use of biological resources for the production of herbal remedies.

Businessmen of the two countries were also discussing prospects of cooperation in trade and economic fields. Trade turnover between Belarus and Vietnam per year reaches $200 million. Belarus supplies there potash fertilizers, dairy products and machinery. A Belarusian tractor is even depicted on one of the banknotes of Vietnam.

Now, as you know, cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Belarus is going at a good pace, we will raise the trade turnover and investment relations to a new level that corresponds to our potential.
