Days of Latvia begin in Belarus

Latvia is considered in Belarus an important partner in business and trade. Minister of Economy of Latvia Dana Reizniece-Ozola stated about the need for closer co-operation on October 20 in Minsk. She arrived in the Belarusian capital on the occasion of the opening of the Days of Latvia.

According to the official, in addition to the traditional partnership in the field of mechanical engineering, wood processing, transportation and transit the sides need to develop cooperation in science and IT. Latvians are interested in working together on the project of the new Silk Road together with China.

With us came 20 different companies from various industries, ranging from the transport sector to food industry. We will be looking for avenues of cooperation at the political and the practical level. I will visit your Hi-Tech Park. We see that information technology is also one of the most important sectors where we can work together very well.

Days of Latvia in Belarus started with a business forum. It gathered in Minsk about fifty businessmen who work in the field of information technology, transport and logistics. The participants of the meeting presented the investment potential of the two countries. Latvian representatives found out about the advantages of doing business in Belarus. Within the framework of the Days of Latvia, there will be held a number of cultural events.
