The borders of the Belarus-Russia Union State are under protection. The joint exercise Union Shield 2015 concluded in the Russian Federation.

The military troops of Belarus and Russia practiced defense, as well as the detection and destruction of illegal armed groups. Large-scale maneuvers brought together more than 8,000 soldiers of the two states. The exercise involved dozens of planes and helicopters and about 400 combat vehicles.

Oleg Belokonev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus:
In terms of practical actions of the troops I can tell you that there was almost no difference in the actions of the Russian Federation and Belarus. The tasks were performed with the highest grades. Skills gained in the course of the joint exercise will help our military in the future.
