On September 8, Belarus won 2-0 against underdogs of Euro 2016 qualifying group C Luxembourg at Borisov Arena.
This is the first home victory of Belarus in official matches since 2012. Last time, they won against Georgia in 2014 World Cup qualifiers on 16 October 2012. Since then, the Belarusians have already held the 6th official home match. The previous four ended in defeats and one was drawn.
The second victory in the qualifying round of Euro 2016 allowed the Belarusian team to gain a foothold on 4th place in group C.
Spain are now the sole leader after defeating FYR Macedonia away 1-0. Slovakia drew Ukraine at home 0-0 and are in second place. Ukrainians are still third.
The national team of Belarus completes the Euro 2016 qualification against Slovakia away (October 9) and at home against FYR Macedonia (12 October).
Spain, Slovakia and Ukraine will qualify from Group C but they are still to decide on the top two places from which teams qualify directly.
