Belarus signs two international agreements at Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Grodno

Economic and financial stability within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) was discussed on September 8 in Grodno, Belarus. Now the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council continues there. Premiers of Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Kazakhstan have gathered at the negotiating table.

Belarus is represented by premier Andrei Kobyakov. According to him, now it is necessary to monitor the progress of preparation of concepts of common markets of gas, oil and petroleum products in the EEU. Special attention is given to the industrial policy of the Eurasian Economic Union, in particular the formation of a single market for services.

Viktor Khristenko, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission:
Today we signed two intergovernmental agreements: on cooperation in intellectual property rights protection and an agreement to launch a pilot project on the labeling of fur products. Maybe this is a very narrow project but it is very important to begin effective combating of shadow imports.
