Before Belarus' game against Luxembourg in the Euro 2016 qualification, Belarus head coach Alexander Khatskevich and midfielder Alexander Hleb answered journalists' questions. The main thing that Khatskevich wanted to tell the media that night was that the result of the game against Luxembourg is the most important thing. And it does not matter how this result will be produced.
Alexander Khatskevich, head coach of the Belarusian national football team:
Of course, it would be desirable to win 3-0 at halftime and just finish the match in the second half. We aim to gradually achieve this, we want to get used to dominating on the pitch. It's very hard, but you need towards strive to this. If you do not do it, you will never achieve success. We must try to become better and be more confident in ourselves. And if someone thinks that Luxembourg are whipping boys, then they are mistaken.
Journalists also asked Mr Khatskevich about his attitude to small audience interest. By Monday morning only slightly more than 2,000 tickets were sold for the match Belarus v Luxembourg.
Must be able to play regardless of the number of spectators. Stands full of people stimulate players and add emotions when they play at home.
Alexander Hleb, Belarus' midfielder:
Judging by how we played in Lviv I am not surprised by the number of tickets sold. If we play better, more people will come to watch our football. If we fight for getting a chance to enter a serious tournament, people and fans will come and support us.
