Belarus' Marina Arzamasova brings Belarus first gold at 15th IAAF World Championships

Runner Marina Arzamasova Belarus has brought Belarus the first gold of the World Championships in Athletics.

The Belarusian athlete clocked 1m 58s in the women's 800m.   This was the second medal for Belarus at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing. 

Earlier Alina Talay had won the women's 100m hurdles. The Belarusian President congratulated the athletes on the world championship medals. Alexander Lukashenko said that the whole country watched the performance of Marina Arzamasova. She became the best on the planet and now the whole world is applauding her success. Marina has proven once again that the Belarusian woman means reliable support of our society and symbolizes the beauty and pride of our country. 

The President also noted the successful performance of Alina Talay. Through hard training and work, she achieved this great success.
