Belarus' central election commission chairwoman meets with CTV channel staff

The long-term OSCE mission plans to visit Belarus on August 26, said August 20 the head of the Belarusian Central Election Commission during a meeting with top management of the CTV channel.

By the way, international observers will study Belarusian media. For now there have been no complaints on their side about election coverage by the state media.

Answering journalists' questions, chairwoman of the election commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshina spoke about the highlights of the current stage of the election campaign. The CEC head drew attention to the explanatory work, which is the task of state media.

Lidia Yermoshina, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus:
I would like to praise the way Belarusian media told voters about the procedure of collecting signatures (I think it was even overdone, voters are maybe tired of us!). But the positive thing is that everyone knows the rules. Some voters have become so professional that they are writing letters to us asking why some members of initiative groups did not have an identity with a photo.
On August 26, the long-term mission of the OSCE comes and presents its credentials. They always have experts in the field of media. Naturally, they will keep track of all our media. They will pay special attention to whether candidates have equal conditions in the media during the election campaign.
