CIS observers' work during 2015 presidential elections to be discussed August 28

The organization of the work of CIS observers during the presidential elections in Belarus will be discussed in Minsk on August 28. Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina will meet with the head of the CIS observation mission Sergei Lebedev.

The sides will discuss organizational issues related to the opening and operation of the mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the presidential elections in Belarus.

It is expected that the election campaign in the country will also be observed by missions of the PACE and OSCE. Meanwhile, the initiative groups continue the collection of signatures, with some candidates stating that they might not collect the required number of signatures.

They are actually running out of time. On Friday, August 21, at 19.00 the territorial election commissions will stop receiving signature sheets and begin to study them.
