Kvass tanks to disappear from Minsk streets

Soviet-style kvass tanks (pictured) will disappear from the streets of Minsk. Sanitary services have stopped work more than 20 companies selling kvass from these barrels.

Kvass is a fermented drink made of rye bread and is very popular in Russia and some eastern European countries, including Belarus. Authorities consider that this kind of trade outdated and failing to meet the standards. Illegally installed commercial properties selling kvass also create certain problems.
