Belarusian military to go to China for military parade

On August 17, Belarusian military will leave for Beijing. Some 85 soldiers of the guard of honor will take part in the parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism on September 3.

In addition to the solemn procession and an extensive cultural program in the capital of China, the whole country will play host to exhibitions, international seminars and civil memorial services for the victims of the war.

The parade will feature about a thousand armored vehicles, artillery and missile systems for various purposes. For the first time, heads of foreign states will be present.

Oleg Voinov, State Secretary, Assistant to the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus on military policy:
We gladly accepted the invitation. We organized training for this event. Our reconnaissance team went directly to Beijing, where they on the ground decided on which of our guys will take part in the parade. And then we organized the training.

Belarus and China are expanding bilateral relations in the military sphere. The two nations hold joint tactical antiterrorist exercises every year.
