Foreign Ministers of Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania discuss Donbass conflict

The trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Belarus, Lithuania and Ukraine - Vladimir Makei, Antanas Linkevičius and Pavel Klimkin - took place in Odessa, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry informs.

"The ministers thoroughly discussed the regional situation related to the conflict in south-eastern Ukraine, and spoke in favor of the quick achievement of specific agreements, which will be acceptable to all parties, within the framework of the Tripartite Liaison Group," the press-service reports.

According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting the officials discussed the prospects of re-formatting of the Eastern Partnership. "V.Makei stressed the need for the diversification of the European Union's approach to the countries participating in the Eastern Partnership, depending on the pressing priorities of their foreign policy. The minister stressed the importance of linking the integration processes in the European space, and - in the future - the dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU," the press-service adds.

In addition, the foreign ministers of the three countries discussed possible actions aimed at strengthening trilateral cooperation in the political, economic, trade and transport sectors as well as the development of tripartite regional projects in various fields.
