Pakistan-China economic corridor may use BelAZ capabilities

The capabilities of Belarusian Automobile Plant (BelAZ) can be used in the construction of the economic corridor between Pakistan and China, said the Minister of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Prime Minister of Pakistan will complete his official visit today after three busy days spent in Belarus.

Top managers of BelAZ acquainted Mr Nawaz Sharif with the fleet and showed him the famous giant vehicles. The first dump trucks (30 tons each) were delivered to Pakistan in 2008.

After today's meeting, the premier was presented a small copy of a BelAZ giant truck. Representatives of the two countries are convinced that this is the start of a new stage of mutually beneficial relations.

Pervez Rashid, Minister of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan:
The delegation of Pakistan, including the Prime Minister, was shocked and surprised by such a company and equipment in it. We also learned about the volumes of production for the first time. We learned what it takes to construct such a big vehicle as BelAZ. We have only the best impressions of the company. Also, it would be a good basis for future relations between the two countries. There are great business opportunities between Belarus and Pakistan. How an economic corridor between China and Pakistan is developing, which is also a good opportunities for collaboration. We are sure that this is not the last visit to the company BelAZ. We hope that you will give our words to all Belarusians.

Oleg Stepuk, First Deputy General Director for Technical Policy and Innovative Technologies, BelAZ:
We have repeatedly traveled to Pakistan thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry. We have already talked with mining companies on how to jointly develop cooperation in mining. At the same time we offered our Pakistani partners complex solutions of these issues: we suggested not only the transportation of the rock mass but also escalation, which means that we will provide our loading equipment together with an escalator. We are even ready to involve our geological research institutes to explore these mineral resources.
