Victoria Azarenka past Elina Svitolina into Rogers Cup round 2

Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (21st in the WTA ranking) has qualified for the second round of Rogers Cup in Toronto.

On August 11 Azarenka dominated in the match against Elina Svitolina (15) of Ukraine and beat her, 6:1, 6:4.

Azarenka's next opponent will be third-seeded Petra Kvitova (4) of the Czech Republic, who did not play in the first round.

Another Belarusian tennis player Olga Govortsova (77) outplayed Irina-Camelia Begu (30) from Romania in the first round. Govortsova had to undergo qualification to get into the main round. There, she ousted Canada's Bianca Andreescu (650), 7:5, 6:0 and Israel's Julia Glushko (163), 6:0, 2:6, 6:3. Govortsova's next opponent is Serbia's Ana Ivanovic.
