Heat wave in Belarus to last one more week

This week, Belarus experienced the hottest day in the history of meteorological observations. The temperature rose to 35.8 degrees above zero.

It's actually like the temperature on southern resorts. The previous high point of summer heat was 35.6 degrees. It was established last year. Forecasters say the temperature these days is 5-10 degrees above normal.

Climatic norms of air temperature for Belarus in August is 18-24 degrees, but in recent years, heat waves come along with the third month of summer in Belarus. In 2008, the maximum temperature was 38 degrees, while 2 years later the figure stood at almost 39 above zero. Indicators of 2015 are lower, but this year there is still a chance for record: the heat wave will last until mid-August.
