Domracheva may miss next season through illness

Currently, the Olympic champion biathlete Darya Domracheva of Belarus is not training.

Earlier Domracheva said that she was diagnosed with a viral disease - mononucleosis.

According to the Belarus 1 TV channel, recovery may take up to three months. There is a possibility that Domracheva may miss the upcoming season.

Earlier, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) published the calendar of the World Cup season 2015/16 and the World Championships in Holmenkollen. The season starts on 29 November.

Darya Domracheva continues to train and is undergoing treatment after illness

Deputy chairman of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation Yuri Albers told BelTA that the three-time Olympic biathlon champion continues to train and is undergoing treatment after illness.

"Information in the media that Domracheva may miss the season due to illness is premature and is only a guess. Daria is continuing treatment after an acute viral disease, but, as she said in social networks, the acute period had passed. Finally, everything will become clear after a full medical examination. Currently Domracheva is abroad, where she continues treatment and training. Workload was reduced at the insistence of doctors but Daria still supports her form," Mr Albers added.
