Alexander Lukashenko notes Belarus' peaceful status at Slavonic Bazaar closing ceremony

A closing ceremony of the international arts festival Slavonic Bazaar was held in Vitebsk yesterday in the evening. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko took part in it.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
I think that the current "Slavic Bazaar" will long be remembered thanks to a wealth of ideas, joy, communion and exceptionally diverse program. With all my heart I would like to congratulate all the fans of the festival with a new star on our Walk of Fame. Our Walk brings together idols of different generations and is a symbol of cultural continuity.  The new star belongs to the outstanding performer, an outstanding composer and just a wonderful person - Polad Bulbuloglu .
Let this project every year be enriched with new names and let our Walk of Fame turn into a true Square of Stars. "Slavic Bazaar" in Vitebsk is called the Cultural Summer Olympics. It has already established itself as a place where musicians, artists, actors and art lovers get acquainted with new trends and creative discoveries from all over the globe. Here people realize how much unites all of us and how we need peace! The Vitebsk Arts Festival is of particular importance in the strengthening of peace and understanding among nations and peoples.
"Peace, peace, mutual understanding!" I always say. This is not a motto to suit present-day interests. We determined this priority many years ago. And who would have thought that today we will be so relevant in our Slavic world! Therefore, peace, peace and peace once more!
Taking part in the festival were not only we, the representatives of the Slavic peoples, the core of the Slavs, our neighbors, but also many, many other countries (a total of 42) - this is the first time in our history. Believe me, we will do everything to ensure that not 42 but 142 states can take part in Slavonic Bazaar.
