Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk 2015: Dali and Picasso exhibition opens

Vitebsk plunges into the atmosphere of the Slavic Bazaar festival. The official opening of the art forum will be held on July 9, but the city lives in the festival's rhythm already today.

Celebrity guests started arriving in the capital of the festival. It is expected that there will be no less than 4,000 participants of Slavonic Bazaar. In 2015, there will be 42 countries.

And this is the festival's record.

Yanina Shibanova, registration specialist of the International Art Festival "Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk":
We are already hosting the festival program. These are concerts, performances, exhibition projects, and an interesting film program, which will be shown in cinemas. I see a lot of visitors and participants of the "Slavonic Bazaar".

It is symbolic that today, on the birthday of Marc Chagall (July 7), a unique exhibition of works by Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso opened in the so-called city of artists. These are original engravings, lithographs, ceramics and sculpture.

Yaroslav Shadrin, exhibition organizer:
In the project, the two great Spanish geniuses of the XX century are pitted against each other, we can say... And we tried to pick stories that allow us to compare these two geniuses. What did Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso think about women? For them, perhaps this topic was the most important in life.
