Memorial stone to WWII victims unveiled on the site of the former Jewish cemetery in Minsk

A memorial stone commemorating victims of the Second World War was opened June 24 at the site of the former Jewish cemetery in Sukhaya Street.

It commemorates hundreds of Jews, who in June 1942 were deported from Königsberg and East Prussia and ended up in the Minsk ghetto. The concentration camp "Trostenets" became their last refuge.

Taking part in the opening ceremony were relatives of the victims, former prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps in Germany and Israel.
