Summer School of Journalism opens June 9 in Minsk as part of International Media Forum

The Summer School of Journalism opened in Minsk June 9. This is one of the projects of the 10th International Media Forum , which is being held in Belarus. The creativity school will traditionally be headquartered at the Institute of Journalism of Belarusian State University.

An open dialogue "Youth and Media" will be held here. There will also be workshops with the participation of experts, leading Belarusian and foreign journalists.

Foreign media forum participants visited the memorial complex "Brest Fortress" and "Khatyn" June 9 in the framework of the project "Unconquered Belarus" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of ITAR-TASS (Russia):
This year we are going to talk about the results and the lessons of the Great Victory. We must prevent the falsification of history. Thus we don't want to let anyone repeat the path of German Nazism 70 years ago. This is what will be the topic of our discussions.

Alexander Kupriyanov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Evening Moscow" (Russia):
I think this task of teachers at the Summer School of Journalism is to teach people to think. I tried to talk about the challenges of modern journalism, about the clash of online journalism and traditional professional market and about trends in our profession.
