Belarusians to fly victory flag on Elbrus prior to Victory Day

"Flowers of the Great Victory" will bloom on the eve of May 9 at the highest peak in Europe. The banner with the symbols of a Belarusian patriotic campaign will appear on Mount Elbrus.

Two Gomel residents decided to raise the flag to a height of over 5,500 meters.

Igor Nosulchik and Vyacheslav Chesheyko chose holiday dates for their travel to Europe where flags of all the countries that defeated fascism will be raised at the peak of Europe in honor of the victory in World War II.

Igor Nosulchik, climber:
We want to leave a kind of mention about it on Elbrus. A mention that people's feat is alive and has not been forgotten. And 70 years after the Great Victory, flags of different countries will be flown on Elbrus.
