Alexander Lukashenko discusses cooperation with China with head of State Security Council

The holding of the military parade and readiness of law enforcement agencies to ensure public order during the celebration of Victory Day on April 27 became the key topics of the meeting of the President and the Secretary of State of the Security Council. The President was also interested in how Belarusian military is training to take part in the Victory Day parade in Moscow.

At the meeting, the officials also discussed the recent visit of Alexander Mezhuev to China. After all, today that country established not only a good trade and economic dialogue. Belarus and China cooperate in the military and technical area.

Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus President:
The main event is the preparation for Victory Day activities related to law enforcement agencies and the military and army. I mean first of all a parade and other events that will involve large numbers of troops.  What are your suggestions for the holding of the parade, how do the military see it in the final version?
The second topic is your trip to China. We do not hide that we are engaged in very active trade and economic cooperation with the People's Republic of China, including military-technical cooperation. Which agreements have you reached with China? And are there any answers to all the questions that we put before the People's Republic of China when it comes to assistance and support in the strengthening of the defensive capabilities of our country?

Alexander Mezhuyev, State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus:
Preparation for the celebration of Victory Day is being conducted according to the plan and all activities are being carried out in accordance with the established procedure. Staff training was also carried out.

Alexander Lukashenko:
But are those units that we send outside Belarus ready?

Alexander Mezhuyev:
That's right.

Alexander Lukashenko:
I hope you understand that this is like our hallmark. We cannot send there our troops who will look worse than the local ones. We should be better prepared.

Alexander Mezhuyev:
That's right.

Alexander Lukashenko:
Just as they when they send us the best troops.

Alexander Mezhuyev:
Comrade President, in accordance with your instructions, on April 25, our festive unit of the Fifth Special Forces Brigade departed for Moscow and is now undergoing exercises. According to the heads of that training, they have no complaints regarding our military.
