Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz says Pope Francis could visit Belarus

Belarus is waiting for the arrival of the Pope. The invitation to visit the Belarusian land was passed to the pontiff by the government, the clergy and the faithful through Cardinal Parolin during his visit to Belarus.

Belarus is waiting for the response from the Vatican. Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz expressed the opinion that a positive decision of Pope Francis will affect the number of votes expressed in favor of his arrival.

Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, Archbishop, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the Republic of Belarus:
The visit was at the invitation of the state authorities so that Cardinal Parolin could meet with the President. Cardinal Parolin also met with head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, which is also very important for the development of ecumenical dialogue. Today, we must work together to meet the challenges of our time.
The visit also had a pastoral character. I then spoke to him. He left with a sense that he saw a lively young Catholic church in Belarus.
