Belarus 7th in relay at Biathlon World Championships 2015

Belarusian biathlon fans on March 13 evening once again sat in front of TV screens hoping to finally see the representatives of Belarus on the podium of the World Championship in Kontiolahti. The women's relay race, however, did not bring any medals again.

Prior to the race, Belarus were third in the women’s relay standings and were among favorites to win medals in the event. Nadezhda Skardino began the race fairly well and despite being 10th after the first stage, the gap was only 15 seconds.

Nadezhda Pisareva, who was second to run, failed at the standing stage and received a penalty lap. As a result – 12th place and a huge gap between Belarus and the race leaders.

Irina Krivko improved Belarus’ place and finished her stage in sixth. Darya Domracheva was 1.5 minutes behind the leaders Germany. But she could not create a miracle, mainly on account of bad shooting.

Germany won the race, with France and Italy also on the podium.
