Alexander Lukashenko: World's wars and conflicts must not cross the border of Belarus

Conflicts taking place in the world must not step over the border of Belarus. This was said by the President at the March 5 meeting with senior staff of the Interior Ministry troops and cadets of the Military Academy.

Currently, law enforcement agencies is the most important factor of national security.

Today's meeting was scheduled long ago. Recently the head of state has considered topical issues of the development of the Armed Forces and the possibility of increasing the state's defense.

At the same time, according to the President, another important task is to ensure the rule of law and socio-political stability in the country.

Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus President:
As a young boy, I'm here very often. You know, I was in Regiment No.339, across the road. This was our strength in Soviet times. I am happy that all the new weapons were tested here in this division, which is now a brigade. It has undergone changes. This year, I'll visit it. But many years later, I recall with great warmth my heavy service there.
Our meeting today is not just due to some extraordinary circumstances. Routinely, this year I will visit and attend a variety of objects and analyze the activities of our law enforcement agencies.
Recently we considered topical issues of the development of the Armed Forces of Belarus, the problem of increasing the defense of our country in the current difficult geopolitical conditions. An equally important task is to ensure the rule of law and socio-political stability in the country, prevent chaos, rising crime and any destabilization. One cannot ignore that the world is changing rapidly, becoming less safe for human life. A number of states have plunged into the abyss of civil wars and ethnic conflicts. These phenomena have already come close to our borders. We should leave this all beoyond our borders. This is our task, our duty to our families, our children and all the people who need protection.

Today, a team of special purpose is the main reserve of the internal troops.

During his visit to military unit No.3214, the head of state was shown samples of military equipment, examples of special clothes, equipment and weapons.

As the President noted, our country manages to timely equip law enforcement agencies and the army with the latest models of military equipment.

Alexander Lukashenko also inspected a room where operational and tactical training is held. The Faculty of the Internal Troops of the Military Academy is located just on the territory of the special purpose brigade.

Over the years of its activity, it has trained more than a thousand officers for the formations and units of internal troops.
