Republic of Komi officials on visit to Grodno region

Cooperation between regions of Belarus and Russia is coming to a new level. Now business contacts will be established directly. This was announced on February 25 by members of the Government of the Republic of Komi (Russia), who visited Belarus' city of Grodno.

Now the economic potential of the parties can not only increase the turnover, but also create joint ventures. Guests are planning to get familiar with the woodworking and tourist infrastructure in the region.

There is also interest in the organization of recreation for residents of the northern region of Russia in Grodno's sanatoriums.

Elman Huzadarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Komi (Russia):
We have a number of points of contact. In particular, in the timber industry and wood processing. We are also interested in establishing cooperation with your furniture businesses, which are famous enough. We are discussing it. There are a number of issues related to agriculture and health. We will be very interested in sending their people here.

Natalia Filina, head of a tourism agency (Russia):
I represent tourism industry, so from this point of view both Grodno and Belarus in general are interesting for me. The main task is to draw on your experience of rural tourism. We were already told today about it, and we are going to visit a couple of your farmsteads. This is the range of tasks that we face. We can see interest from your side and this is nice and important.

The guests paid particular attention to the development of tourism in the region. Businessmen intend to adopt Belarusian experience in agro-tourism.
