Grodno historical buildings to get QR-codes

Ancient Grodno will become more accessible to tourists. The city will have all its historical building equipped with special QR-codes. To get detailed information on any object, one must only have a modern mobile phone with internet access.

The information on the page dedicated to the landmarks is being translated into six languages.  The description will be followed by small video and audio clips. In addition, the places will be geolocated, which will help tourists immediately orient themselves.

Thus, Grodno has created a prototype of the first, and absolutely free, mobile guide.

Natalia Mikhnevich:
You see a QR code, photograph it on the phone and the program quickly finds a place. You don't need a guide, you can walk safely, build your route through the city.

Sergey Koleda, author of the idea:
If we make [QR codes] on the main objects and are able to create tourist routes with the help of this program, even individual tourists can now come and see this QR code, for example at the railway station. And then you are welcome to create your own route. And it is beneficial for the country's economy. The more tourists come, the better.
