The Samarians pretty quickly took the lead. But the Belarusian side not only restored the parity but also increased the lead to 15 points by the end of the first half.

However, even given such a handicap, the home crowd knew that was not the end and it was not yet the time to relax. In a duel of these opponents in the first round, the Minsk side squandered such an advantage in only one quarter.

The start the second half gave an additional reason for unrest. Krylya won the start (9:2) and reduced the gap by 50%. However, the hosts scored 7 unanswered points to restore a comfortable gap.
