Visa-free travels between Belarus and Israel from April 2015

Visa-free travels between Belarus and Israel from April 2015

Members of the lower house of the Belarus parliament have ratified the agreement on visa-free regime with Israel. The deal was signed in September 2014.

The document will enter into force 90 days after its ratification by the parliaments of Belarus and Israel and after the sides receive relevant notices through diplomatic channels.

The Belarusian foreign minister has estimated the deal will come into effect at the beginning of April.

The citizens of Belarus and Israel will be able to remain in these countries during a period of up to 90 days within six months without a visa.

This agreement is concluded for one year and may be renewed automatically.

Yosef Shagal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus:
We live in a very hot country, while Belarus has a great climate and wonderful forests. The visa regime really prevented tourist flows because there are so many countries in Europe that Israelis can visit without a visa. And this is of course much cheaper than a trip to Belarus. After the abolition of the visa regime, the potential flow of tourists should increase.
