Darya Domracheva named Europe's best sportswoman

The Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva has been named the best sportswoman of Europe in 2014 following the results of a survey conducted for the 32nd time by the continental section of the International Sports Press Association.

At the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Domracheva won three gold medals.

After the Games, she was honored the title of the Hero of Belarus.

The athlete won second place in a poll of sports journalists of the world (behind the American tennis player Serena Williams) and was recognized as the best in Belarus following surveys carried out by the BelaPAN news agency and the newspaper "Sportivnaya Panorama."
